About Terraria

Terraria is a 2D sandbox adventure that mixes mining, building, combat, and exploration in a procedurally generated world. You start with little more than an axe and a pickaxe, chopping trees and digging ore to survive your first night, then steadily work toward better gear, bosses, and biomes. The world is packed with content: underground caverns hide treasure and enemies, floating islands drift above, and the Corruption or Crimson spreads across the surface. Crafting is the heart of the game — thousands of items span weapons, armor, furniture, and machinery — and you can build anything from a simple shelter to elaborate castles with wiring, elevators, and traps. After you defeat the Wall of Flesh, the game transforms into hardmode with tougher enemies, new biomes, and endgame challenges. It supports up to eight players in multiplayer, which is how many people enjoy it best.

Terraria FAQ

Is Terraria free?

No — it is a paid game available on Steam and other official stores, with a huge amount of content for its price.

Is Terraria like 2D Minecraft?

It shares the mining and building loop, but Terraria is much more combat and boss focused, with RPG-style gear progression and dozens of bosses.

Can I play Terraria with friends?

Yes — up to eight players can join a world, either over the internet or on a local network.

What happens after I beat the Wall of Flesh?

The world enters hardmode: new biomes, enemies, ores, and bosses appear, roughly doubling the game's content.

Does Terraria work on mobile?

Yes — mobile and console versions are available, though controls differ from the PC version.
