About Dungeon Keeper
Dungeon Keeper is the 1997 classic that inverted the fantasy formula: instead of saving the world, you build and defend a dungeon and destroy the heroes who invade it. You play the Keeper, a godlike hand that digs out rooms, summons creatures like imps, demons, and dragons, and manages gold and traps to protect your heart (the dungeon's core). The game is a hybrid of real-time strategy and god game, famous for its dark humor, its charmingly evil tone, and the personalities of its creatures, who squabble, train, and occasionally need a slap to get back to work. Heroes march in with righteous determination only to fall into your traps, and the more territory you claim, the more powerful your dungeon becomes. It inspired a sequel, expansions, and a genre of 'reverse dungeon' games, and remains a cult classic of the strategy genre.
