About Slay the Spire
Slay the Spire is the game that created the deck-building roguelike genre, combining card games with dungeon crawling in a perfect loop. You climb a procedurally generated tower, choosing paths through rooms full of enemies, elites, events, and shops. Every battle is a card game: you play cards from your hand to attack, defend, and apply effects, then draw a new hand each turn. After each fight you add cards to your deck, and the art of the game is building synergies — a thin, focused deck beats a bloated one. Four characters (the Ironclad, Silent, Defect, and Watcher) each have completely different card pools and mechanics, giving the game enormous replayability. The difficulty scales with each act, and the game is brutally fair: every death teaches you something. It spawned an entire genre of deck-building roguelikes and remains the best of them.
